Faculty Position Available
The Waksman Institute and the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences at Rutgers University invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels in plant developmental genetics using genomics tools. Preference will be given to individuals who possess computational skills and whose interests are synergistic with ongoing research programs at the Institute. The Waksman Institute maintains diverse areas of research with strengths in developmental biology, cell biology, neurobiology, microbiology, protein biochemistry, structural biology, molecular machines, and signal transduction (read more).
The use of biochemistry and genetics to tackle basic biological problems in animal, plant, and microbial model organisms is the common thread unifying the Institute’s research. We welcome a variety of experimental approaches and value a demonstrated excellence in research over a specific research area. The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an externally-funded research program that is synergistic with ongoing activities within the Plant Genome Initiative at Rutgers, and to participate in the biotechnology undergraduate curriculum and teach the graduate curriculum of the Department of Plant Biology and Pathology. Applicants should have a Ph.D., Pharm.D., M.D. or equivalent degree and relevant post-doctoral experience. Consideration
