Dr. Mark Zander

Dr. Mark Zander is an Assistant Professor at the Waksman Institute of Microbiology and a member of the Rutgers Plant Biology Department. Mark earned his Ph.D. in the laboratory of Prof. Christiane Gatz at the University of Göttingen, Germany, where he investigated the molecular mechanisms underlying crosstalk phenomena between different defense pathways in the model plant species Arabidopsis thaliana. For his postdoctoral studies, Mark joined the laboratory of Prof. Joseph R. Ecker at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies to study the role of transcription factors and the epigenome in plant-environment interactions.
